More online reading

We recently announced this video series has been published here at our GFI web site. Here is more about its purpose and content.

john14_6

After teaching a seminar to believers from a middle eastern background, the Lord laid the need on John Woodward’s heart to make this teaching available to many others who could benefit from it.  When I shared this burden with our ministry associate at DDX Media, he embraced the vision as well. Within a week someone who heard about the project offered to sponsor it!

The series has now been video recorded, edited and published as “Jesus of Nazareth: The True and Living Way.” The eight half hour lessons are a blend of evangelism, apologetics, and Exchanged Life discipleship. A notebook edition of this John 14:6 study is also being published online and through our GFI store.

Here is a brief overview.

Session 1: Jesus as the great “I Am” and His identity as Messiah.

Part 2: “I Am” statements of Christ in the Gospel of John.

Part 3: Jesus is the Way of redemption (making the plan of salvation clear).

Part 4: Jesus, the Way, as confirmed by His miracles.

Part 5: Jesus is the Truth. We examine two essential tests of a prophet and demonstrate how Jesus passed these tests. He is the “prophet” / Messiah God prophesied through Moses (Deut. 18:18,19; Acts 3:18-26).

Part 6: Has the Bible been changed, or is it still reliable?

Part 7: Jesus is the Life. Here Christ is Life is presented through Chuck Solomon’s Wheel and Line diagrams (Col. 3:1-4).

Part 8. Jesus is the True and Living Way Exclusively. Although concepts of absolute truth and Christ as the only way are politically and culturally incorrect, they is biblically correct (Acts 4:12).

The intended audience includes seekers from a background of being Jewish, nominally Christian, or Muslim. But the series would also be effective for people from other religious or non-religious persuasions. The lessons are presented through as inductive Bible study approach. The goal was to speak the truth in love without compromise, yet without a condescending attitude. The apologetics element directly relates to objections raised by Islam, but “Quran,” and “Muhammed” are not explicitly mentioned.

When John testified about this project at his home church, the leaders recognized the potential of also showing the series at our international student ministry center.  (Students from other countries visit our tourist area each summer for seasonal work; they come for economic and intercultural benefits.)

The video producer, Bob Denney, also manages the internet radio and TV channel “Creative Christian Network.” These lessons are now available through the CCN TV channel here and in other nations via a “Roku” device. (See www.Roku.com to learn about this.) Let’s pray for God’s anointing on this resource and His leading that many believers would use this an an outreach tool. May seekers in other countries view it and embrace Christ by faith as the true and living way.

The videos and PDF study guide are online here under “Resources” menu.
