“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone  in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:6,7

We give thanks for all who partner with GFI in sharing “the rest of the gospel” as it relates to counseling, life coaching and chaplaincy.

Mark was welcomed by a house full in Birmingham, Alabama on July 12th for the Introduction to Exchanged Life Counseling Seminar. The host was a third generation Galatians 2:20 discipler.  August 4-7 Mark was on a trip with the Johnson University soccer team. As their chaplain he will had sessions for mentoring and sharing the message of Christ our Life with the players and coaches.

Carrie McKeehan’s book has been published on Amazon in paperback and ebook formats! We pray Battle Cry, Losing Everything, Lacking Nothing will bless many.

We give thanks for our Exchanged Life Counseling Workshop held in Pigeon Forge July 28-31. The group was small but very engaged. The youngest was Mark’s 15 year old son, the oldest (my age) was a retired medical doctor from Texas.

I hope our readers are hearing and sharing the GFI Podcast, Glimpses of Grace.  Episode #66 is an inspiring interview with pastor Jeff Barbieri of Grace Enrichment Ministries.

My wife, Linda, is back at Dollywood on the chaplaincy team after a month off. A summer intern there, Grace (from California), attended the Workshop last week and is excited to share what she learned! The Dollywood parks and resorts will provide a Health Expo for their employees on August 28th. Grace Fellowship will have an exhibit table and I get to present one of the workshops.

Please continue to lift up the counseling ministry of myself, Mark and our Guides. We have calls requesting help almost daily. Thankfully, we can offer help and hope through Jesus Christ our Lord, Life, Liberator and Leader.

We are so grateful for prayers and support. In the early days the Solomons had a poor counselee give eggs as a thank you. Recently we were sent a gold coin (which arrived securely by mail!). But however the financial support is given, we are thankful. May we be good stewards of the treasure of blessings we have in Christ, trusting His enablement.

Yours in Christ,

John Woodward
Director of Counseling and Training
