As a Muslim background believer he has had many attempts on his life including a horrific acid attack on December 24, 2011. In the third week of October pastor Umar visited Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and the IAM tv studio. John Woodward conducted three interview programs about Umar’s conversion, the need to reach out to Muslims, and the challenge of persevering in the face of persecution. The programs have been posted on GFI’s Facebook page.
