“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 ESV
Dear friends of Grace Fellowship International,
Recently, I have been reflecting on these words of Jesus in John 15:5: “I am the vine, you are the branches… apart from Me you can do nothing.” In a world that constantly tells people to try harder, perform better, and carry their burdens alone, we are continually reminded that true life is found only in dependence upon Christ in us. Lasting freedom, healing, and daily victory are not produced through human effort but through abiding in Christ. At GFI this remains at the center of everything we do—guiding people into a complete and victorious identity in Christ.
This spring has been filled with exciting opportunities for ministry.
We are grateful to announce a new partnership with The King’s Academy, a Christian school located in Seymour, TN. Starting in August, we will begin working with students, families, and teachers to share the truth and hope of the Exchanged Life message with the next generation. We believe students today are desperately searching for identity, acceptance, and purpose, and we are honored to walk alongside them with the truth of who they are in Christ. GFI is also blessed to be working alongside athletes at Johnson University, a Christian college located in Knoxville, TN. Liz and I have the honor of being chaplains for the men’s and women’s soccer teams.
In addition, God continues to open doors for ministry to soldiers and individuals struggling with PTSD and emotional trauma. We are seeing firsthand how the Gospel speaks not only to eternity but also to the deepest wounds of the heart. Many are discovering that Christ is not merely helping them survive their struggles—He desires to live His life through them in the middle of those struggles. Please pray as God is sending people to GFI.
We are in the final stages of developing two new curriculum resources:
• A new teen-focused Exchanged Life curriculum designed to help students understand identity, acceptance, surrender, and victorious living in Christ. Dr. Scott Jenkins is leading the charge, and we hope to have this resource available in August.
• A PTSD and trauma resource rooted in biblical truth and the message of grace, aimed at helping individuals experience hope, victory, renewal, and healing through Christ-centered discipleship. Dr. John, Mark Miller, and I are working on this project.
Many years ago, Grace Fellowship Africa was a dream of Dr. Solomon. Last month, we launched that dream and began Zoom training sessions for pastors throughout Africa. Our next online training is set for May 28th and we are expecting at least 15 pastors to be online. We are grateful for Charles Ambaka, who is helping me expand this ministry. Our goal is to have at least one pastor in each country in Africa. As of today, we have 5 of the 54 countries in Africa represented.
These projects are only possible because of faithful partners whose giving allows us to continue training leaders, developing resources, counseling individuals, and sharing the life-changing message of Christ in us both here in the United States and around the world.
Please continue praying with us:
• For open hearts among counselees, students and soldiers we are ministering to
• For wisdom as we finalize these new curriculum resources
• For continued opportunities to train pastors and leaders both in Africa and in the USA
• For God’s provision as ministry opportunities continue to grow
We are deeply grateful for all who partner with us in the Gospel as we herald the victorious life found in Jesus Christ.
In Christ,
