A devotional thought

“…which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places”  (Ephesians 1:20).

Jesus is seated at God’s right hand, and He has made us to be seated with him.  Christianity doesn’t begin with walking but with seating.  Our victorious life starts when we see that we are in Christ, seated together with Him in the heavenly places.  We don’t walk in order to sit.  Christianity doesn’t begin with “DO” but with “DONE!”  The book of Ephesians starts with the fact that we’ve been “blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 1:3).  We are invited to sit down and enjoy what God has done for us, not to set out to try and attain it for ourselves.  Walking implies effort and Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear that we are “saved by grace through faith, not by works.”

We did nothing to save ourselves; we began our Christian life, not by self effort but by depending upon what Jesus has already done!  The Christian life from beginning to end is based upon utter dependence upon Jesus and Him alone.  Sitting is an attitude of rest. Something has been finished, work stops and so we sit.  We find victory not when we walk but first, when we sit.  To sit down spiritually is simply to rest everything—our load, ourselves, our future, etc.— on Jesus.  We let Him bear the responsibility and cease to carry it ourselves (Matt. 11:28-30).

Ministry news

We are excited to share the launch of our new podcast, “Glimpses of Grace.”  You can listen to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio, Pandora, Stitcher, or Spotify.  Currently, Dr. John and I are releasing episodes bi-monthly.  Episode 1 covers the 3-cross testimony and episode 2 discusses Exchanged Life, what is exchanged, and the practical daily implications of exchanged life.  Please listen and share the podcast with everyone you know.

You can look forward to a new GFI app that will be available for cell phones and tablets. More details will come as we build out the app, launching in a few months!

We would love to have you follow us on social media.  Weekly, we share content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.  Find us, follow us, and help spread the message by sharing and liking the posts that are meaningful to you.  This helps spread the word about GFI to people you have influence with.

Our next GFI Exchanged Life Counseling Workshop is February 20th-23rd in Pigeon Forge, TN.  Please join us in praying over this week as people gather to learn more about “Spirituotherapy.”  During the week, participants learn how to take history of a person as well as how to walk others through the wheel and line diagrams.  Not only is this week educational, for some it becomes transformational.  The cost covers registration, a conference notebook loaded with content, and lunch for two days.  You can register online or call the office at (865) 429-0450.

Our next one-day seminar, “Finding Joy,” is coming up on Saturday, March 4th from 9AM-4:30 PM.  The cost for this event is $50 per person or $90 per couple.  Lunch, refreshments, and an Exchanged Life notebook are included in the registration fee.

Dr. John, John Norman, Cathy, and I are so thankful for the prayer and financial support in 2022.  Because of this generosity, GFI had a strong financial year and a very healthy year-end campaign.  We are grateful and thankful for all who partner with us to guide people into complete and victorious identity in Christ.  Together, we are making a difference.
